IWA Publishing Signs First ‘Read & Publish’ Deal with Leading Dutch Institutions

Last week marked a momentous step for IWA Publishing in our committed progress towards Open Access (OA). On Tuesday, 2 October 2018 we signed our first ‘Read and Publish’ agreement with Delft University of Technology and Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

Through this deal, both universities have access to the complete IWA Publishing portfolio and complete Open Access publication rights. Article Processing Charges (APCs) associated with accepted manuscripts are automatically waived for corresponding authors affiliated with TU Delft or WUR.

Eligible authors wishing to take advantage of the fee-waiver for OA publishing in IWA Publishing journals have only to submit their manuscript using their university e-mail address and including their institutional affiliation. Although the agreement officially comes into effect on 1 January 2019, IWA Publishing will also waive APCs for authors submitting manuscripts during the remainder of 2018.

IWA Publishing is excited to collaborate with leading institutions such as TU Delft and WUR with such a progressive attitude towards Open Access. Removing barriers to OA publishing and streamlining the process are both key priorities for IWA Publishing and the Dutch universities and we look forward to working together towards our shared goals.

Rod Cookson, Managing Director from IWA Publishing, says:

‘IWA Publishing is very excited to sign this agreement with TU Delft and Wageningen, maximising dissemination of essential research and making it as easy as possible for authors to share their work through Open Access.’

Just de Leeuwe, Publishing Advisor from TU Delft, says:
