Why was this paper chosen?

I feel that this manuscript addresses major concerns in developing countries i.e. flood events which will further exacerbate in the future due to climate change. Flood management is also a critical strategy of climate change adaptation, however, work related to this aspect often remains neglected. The manuscript describes an approach for flood zoning by integrating an application of hydraulic modelling with an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique. This approach is applied in the Damodar River Basin which is one of the largest river basins in India and prone to flooding. In addition the manuscript has practical aspects with the application of advanced software tools, where the outcome can even be applied to policy development. An optimum combination of Tables, Equations, Satellite Imageries, Graphs are used in the manuscript to make it more presentable and interesting to readers.
