Why was this paper selected for Editor's Choice?

More intensive rainfall events and greater soil sealing result in increased surface runoff. Land-use has an important effect on surface runoff and flash floods. The paper "Assessment of the hydrological response of an urban watershed to rainfall-runoff events in different land use scenarios – Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil" (wst.2020.148) I chose as this issues Editor Choice, deals with this important topic. The paper nicely shows that green infrastructure can be a means to reduce flooding by reducing peak flows and thus can help to mitigate effects due to changing climate.
