Why was this paper selected as Editor's Choice?

Nature-based solutions (NBS) are becoming more and more popular for various applications in urban environments such as stormwater management. The paper I have chosen as the Editor Choice paper for issue 80(8), "Simulating the effects of low impact development approaches on urban flooding: a case study from Tehran, Iran" (wst.2019.412), deals with this topic. There were several reasons to choose this paper, including Movahedinia et al. used numerical modelling to investigate the impact of NBS in a district of Tehran. This is a paper on a hot topic and is a nicely done simulation study from a country where we do not see too many papers of this kind published.
