Blue-Green Systems Launches in Palermo, Italy

Saluti! That’s “cheers” in Italian to celebrate the last in our series of global launch events for our latest Open Access journal, Blue-Green Systems! We toasted to the journal in true Sicilian style at the historic Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo, Sicily. Co-Editor in Chief, Ana Deletic (Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of New South Wales) announced the launch to over 300 delegates at the opening ceremony of the 11th International Conference on Urban Drainage Modelling. Also in attendance were Associate Editors David McCarthy, (Monash University, Australia), Manfred Kleidorfer (University of Innsbruck, Austria) and Managing Editors Peter Bach (EAWAG, Switzerland) and Kefeng Zhang, (University of New South Wales, Australia). The launch was followed by a cocktail soirée in the stunning palace gardens.

Blue-Green Systems (BGS) brings together cutting-edge research on sustainable, energy efficient and environmentally responsible water use in cities and their regions, including innovative approaches such as Sponge Cities, Low Impact Development, Nature Based Solutions and Water Sensitive Urban Design.
