Why was this paper chosen?

In many countries, reclaimed wastewater reuse has become a key issue to deal with water scarcity in a context of climate change. It is especially the case in large urban areas. One of the major concerns is related to the microbial quality of the water to be reused. Researchers from the Greater Paris Sanitation Authority Research and development Laboratory have investigated the fate of four pathogen indicators in five WWTPs over five years. They discuss the effect of the wastewater treatment technology as well as the sensitivity of the pathogen indicators. I recommend this information-rich paper for its scientific content and for the guidelines which can be derived to improve the microbial quality of treated wastewater.
