Questions

This year will be the 14th Leading Edge Conference on Water and Wastewater Technologies (LET 2017). Why is this event important?

To me the venue of the conference in Brazil is important. This gives the opportunity to establish our collaboration with colleagues in South-America further and to confirm the importance of technology development in the field.

This year, LET 2017 is dedicated to technology solutions in the water-energy-food interface. What do you think/hope this will achieve?

Holistic assessment of technology options is inevitable to avoid dead-end-solutions. The view to the Water-Energy-Food nexus promotes such integrated thinking.

What, for you, has been the most significant or exciting development in water and wastewater technologies in recent years?

From my very personal point of view, the development towards a holistic water management in cities (buzz word: Green – Blue Infrastructure) is remarkable and a potential pathway to urban future.
